What We Take

Mattress Removal

We remove mattresses and box springs of any size from anywhere in the house, including third-floor walk-ups. A single mattress falls under our minimum pickup, plus a per-unit mattress disposal fee and a separate fee per box spring — those are transfer-station charges we pass through at cost, quoted to you before anything moves. Every figure is published on our pricing page.

A disposal fee applies to this item (mattress · box spring) — passed through at cost and quoted before we load. The amount is listed on the pricing page.

Disposal fee
Applies

Mattress · Box spring

Massachusetts banned mattresses from landfill disposal in November 2022. Every mattress has to go to a recycling facility that dismantles it into steel, foam and fibre, and that facility charges per unit. The fee is what they charge us.

How we get it out

Two-person carry from wherever it sits. We bag or wrap the mattress before it leaves the room so nothing brushes a wall or a stair rail on the way out.

Where it goes afterwards

Mattresses go to a permitted recycling facility, not a landfill. The steel springs, foam and fibre are separated and recycled.

Booking it

Call (774) 230-8388 or book online. You get a price before the work starts, and it does not change afterwards. This falls under our furniture removal service if you have more than one item going.

Mattress Removal questions

How much does it cost to get rid of a mattress? +

A single mattress on its own is our minimum pickup plus the mattress disposal fee. A mattress and box spring together is the same minimum pickup plus both disposal fees. If the mattress is going out with other junk, it simply adds the disposal fee to whatever load size you end up in. The pricing page lists the minimum pickup and both fees.

Do you take box springs too? +

Yes. A box spring carries its own disposal fee, listed on the pricing page, because the recycling facility bills it separately from the mattress.

Can you get a king mattress down a narrow staircase? +

Almost always. Two people, and we go slow. If a mattress genuinely will not make the turn we will tell you on the spot rather than force it and damage the wall.

Do I need to move it to the curb? +

No. Curbside is fine if that is easier for you, but the price is the same either way — we do the carrying.
